ENTTEC OCTO Controllers Power Retro-Futuristic Stage Spectacular
Dark Moon Designs utilized four ENTTEC OCTO controllers to create a comprehensive LED control system for T-Pain’s Stagecoach 2025 performance. The installation featured a two-part stage system with integrated LED elements throughout, including wraparound stairs with neon trim, a four-layer LED arch.

Stagecoach Festival, often called “country music’s biggest party,” has evolved beyond its traditional roots to embrace genre-crossing performances at its Palomino Stage—the festival’s dedicated space for alternative and crossover acts.
The 2025 edition marked a significant moment as T-Pain, the Grammy-winning artist known for revolutionizing hip-hop with Auto-Tune, brought his unique blend of R&B, hip-hop, and country influences to the desert venue. The Palomino Stage, which has hosted everyone from Diplo to Brandi Carlile, provided the perfect setting for T-Pain’s genre-defying performance.
For this performance, Dark Moon Designs brought serious retro flair and innovative lighting effects to the stage—creating a custom DJ booth and a separate performance platform that worked together to craft an unforgettable visual moment.

The set was built as a two-part system: a carpeted stage with a thrust, and a sculptural swooping LED arch. The four ENTTEC OCTOs were chained together across 4 control areas to drive all the pixels across the set. LED product was embedded throughout: neon strips lit the stairs as standalone features, while the archway was layered with four levels of LED strips for depth and contrast.
The performance platform, placed at center stage and lined with 70s-inspired shag carpet, was designed to glow subtly around the edges—adding texture and a warm, vintage vibe. This lighting detail gave the piece a soft halo effect while complementing the more technical elements.
DJ Montay was perched within a mirror-tiled, semi-circular DJ booth that, while not containing lights itself, brilliantly reflected the glow from the LED arch to create a disco-ball effect. This clever use of reflective surfaces introduced the perfect disco-ball energy that tied the whole set together—sometimes the best effects come from creative material choices rather than additional fixtures. The asymmetry of the layout was balanced through the band’s placement and warm incandescent lighting, allowing the full set to fill out the Palomino stage with intention.
Paired with four dancers and custom video content by Maria from Nappy Boy Entertainment, the production felt polished and dynamic. Funky and fun, the build was a celebration of texture, light, and motion. The synergy between LED strips and custom video wall content brought the overall set together!
Dark Moon Designs has regularly made use of ENTTEC OCTOs with fantastic stage designs, and this installation demonstrated the controllers’ reliability and flexibility for complex festival productions. Desert heat, dust, and the typical festival chaos? The OCTOs handled it all without missing a beat.
