Working with installer BMTC for Dubai Municipality, we supplied the gear and provided technical support to bring this colorful gateway to life.
Solving the Distance Challenge
Every project has its puzzle to solve. For Zabeel Park, it was distance.
The existing infrastructure meant the DMX controller had to live in the guard room—far from where the magic needed to happen.
The DMX decoders and power supplies? They had to be mounted in a central location, equally distant from the actual lights.
Here’s where our CVC4’s PLink connection saved the day. This clever feature allows units to communicate over distances up to 300 meters apart using standard Cat6 cable. Problem solved—no need for expensive infrastructure changes or signal boosters.
The Control Trinity
CVC4: Our constant voltage LED dimmer with the game-changing PLink connectivity. Handles 20A across four channels with ultra-smooth 16-bit resolution, all while conquering those distance challenges.
DIN Ethergate Mk2: Compact but mighty, this Ethernet-to-DMX gateway converts network protocols to reliable DMX output, fitting neatly into the existing electrical setup.
S-Play SP1-1: The showrunner storing all the customized effects BMTC programmed to meet Dubai Municipality’s requirements. These include white, purple, and blue color sequences, plus special programs for EID, UAE Flag colors, and New Year celebrations. Operators can instantly switch between these different moods—giving the park its dynamic personality.
