In April 2023, Coachella once again turned the California desert into the center of the music world. Over two weekends, from April 14–23, the Empire Polo Club in Indio witnessed history as BLACKPINK became the first K-pop group to headline the festival. When Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé took the main stage, they performed before 125,000 festival-goers and an estimated 250 million livestream viewers worldwide.
The lighting design came together through a dream team of creatives: Neon Guardians’ David Serrano, Humberto from @3g.productions, and @zachsweirdworld. The production team knew this historic moment demanded visual excellence that could match the magnitude of the occasion while honoring Korean cultural heritage.
As the night unfolded through hits like “Pink Venom,” “Kill This Love,” “How You Like That,” and the crowd-favorite “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” ENTTEC’s LED structures created a living backdrop that responded to every beat. During the solo performances—Jennie’s “You & Me,” Jisoo’s “Flower,” Rosé’s “Gone/On the Ground,” and Lisa’s “Money”—the cylindrical towers shifted from unified group displays to individualized color schemes that reflected each member’s unique artistic identity.
The finale of “Forever Young” saw the entire stage bathed in pink light as fireworks exploded overhead, with ENTTEC’s pixel technology creating the perfect bridge between the physical pyrotechnics and the digital artistry.

ENTTEC RGBW LED Pixel Tape
The stage was dominated by towering cylindrical structures, each one loaded with four strips of ENTTEC RGBW LED pixel tape. Every strip had its own PLink injector, feeding both power and data with precision, while Pixelators on each tower acted as the control hub—keeping every pixel in perfect sync. These cylindrical towers weren’t just technical marvels—they transformed throughout the night, creating everything from vibrant rainbow gradients to pulsing pink atmospheres that enveloped the performers in light.
To make the magic happen, the crew leaned on ENTTEC’s ELM (LED Mapper) software for advanced pixel mapping. Content was sent via NDI and paired with Resolume, giving them the flexibility to run pre-programmed sequences alongside live effects—so the visuals could move and shift perfectly with BLACKPINK’s choreography and music.
As David Serrano put it: “It’s easy to create this incredible kind of work for #blackpinkofficial with ENTTEC products—working on this with Humberto and Zach was an amazing experience.”
The ENTTEC pixel control system seamlessly integrated with the festival’s massive lighting infrastructure, working in perfect harmony with hundreds of other fixtures and control systems. This sophisticated setup transformed the stage into a dynamic canvas that could transition from intimate moments to explosive visual spectacles across the 90-minute set.
The result was an electrifying mix of technology and artistry that took BLACKPINK’s Coachella stage to the next level—proof that with the right gear and the right team, you can turn even the largest stage in the world into an immersive, unforgettable experience. ENTTEC’s pixel control technology didn’t just illuminate the performance—it helped create a cultural milestone where technical excellence enabled artistic expression without limits.
